The perfect day

I decided to call off work today. I woke up and just needed a day to simply feel free. I put on a bikini and drove to the beach. When I got there, the sun had risen but still hung low on the horizon. I decided to forgo sunscreen and just play in the water like I was a kid again — not worrying about anything I would normally worry about.

While in the water I started noticing so many monarch butterflies fluttering about. It lit me up. When I decided it was time to head back, I saw that there was a swarm of butterflies (probably way less than you’re imagining but alot) flying in the same direction ( i guess they’re going to Florida for the winter:) I was so full of childlike wonder that I spent a good 15 minutes just filming them. I have never seen that many butterflies.

When I got home I had sand in every crevice imaginable. I took a shower and immediately after getting ready, I was out of the door again. I work from home so some days I just need to be outside. The week before, I had done the riverwalk downtown at night with a friend, I decided to go back and explore that area in the day time. I am so glad I did.

I found an herbal shop and browsed the herbs and books they had in the store. They had a smoothie bar and the woman working the counter made me a delicious banana, cacao, and peanut butter smoothie. I grabbed one of the books on display and read in the courtyard area.

I then walked aimlessly, letting curiosity pull me. I found a cool gallery and a local art shop. The woman working at the gallery recommended I check out a crystal shop that had actually caught my attention earlier so I went back to find it. My birthstone is a ruby, I decided I would get that but they didn’t carry it. The woman working there showed me bracelets that were made with ruby instead and I fell in love with a particular one. She said she could add whatever charm I wanted so of course I chose a butterfly.

Later that day, my acting teacher randomly invited me to a yoga class called goddess yoga. Trusting the day, I said yes! The class was beautiful, the girls there were lovely. It was the perfect way to end the perfect day.

Whoever is reading this, I am manifesting for you perfect days. Praying we both have more perfect days to feel alive and free.
