Soothing Matcha + Rose Latte

One of my favorite rituals is my four o'clock afternoon matcha ritual. It’s something I do purely for the joy of it. A moment of calm that feels both grounding and energizing. The process itself is meditative and simple but the benefits of the drink are endless. Matcha is rich in antioxidants, which help neutralize free radicals in the body, reducing oxidative stress and lowering the risk of chronic diseases. It supports detoxification, improves heart health, enhances immunity, supports skin health and on and on and on.

The other star ingredient, Rose powder, also has a myriad of benefits. It contains a high level of antioxidants that help combat oxidative stress, which can damage cells and contribute to aging and disease. The antioxidant properties of rose powder support overall health and wellness, from skin protection to boosting the immune system. Rose powder may also support hormonal balance, which could help regulate menstrual cycles.

Usually, I pair the latte with a slice of almond butter toast, topped with a variety of nuts—pecans, walnuts, and almonds. Sometimes, I’ll have it with a small baked Japanese sweet potato.

It’s a small ritual, but it feels like a luxury every time, one I look forward to each day.

Recipe

  • 1/2 tsp Ceremonial Grade Matcha

  • 1/2 tsp Rose Powder

  • 1/2 Cup water

  • Oat Milk to fill the rest of the cup

  • 1 tsp Honey

  • Cinnamon

  • Nutmeg

  • Vanilla (optional)

I use a mug that is about 12 oz (the measurements mater for taste and also to avoid overly caffeinating my self.)

Bring water to a medium-hot temp and slowly heat milk on low-medium heat. Sift the Matcha and Rose into a bowl or directly in mug, add hot water and whisk vigorously. Add Honey, cinnamon, nutmeg and whisk until honey dissolves then fill the rest of the mug with milk. Enjoy!
